Water is a precious commodity. When you  turn on a tap in Switzerland, you get high-quality water that is clean and healthy. However, in many parts of the country, the lime content is very high, giving the water a ‘hard’ quality.

Hard water is safe for human consumption. However, lime deposits can form which can cause severe damage to many systems, machines and devices. This is particularly true when water is heated, for example in boilers, washing machines, coffee machines, showers and in pots and pans used for cooking. Likewise, washing laundry with hard water requires more detergent. Swisskalk descaling systems regulate water hardness across ten healthy degrees of hardness in accordance with the French scale.
